Contacted Draper the other day to try and get a replacement T bar for my miniature set of sockets (the only things that let me get at the impeller) as the last one had given up the unequal struggle. Pausing only to get address they sent me a complete new set FOC.

Have to say they have convinced me to buy any of their tools in future without the slightest qualm.

Well done, Draper.

Funny I've always thought of them as the cheap option and never thought they would have decent service. Nice to see stories like this, I'll be more likely to buy their stuff from now on!

My dad has a Draper socket set, I'd guess well over 30 years old; quite heavily used ( through the cheap old banger cars he and I have had for serious things like engines, gearboxes etc + sensible things like boats ) - all the set is good as new, used it the other day to put a towbar on my car & today re-assembling the trailer.

I'd never think of Draper as 'cheap', just the thinking, sensible man's option to Snap-On ! :)

I was given a Draper socket set for my 21 st ......more than 4 decades ago..and it is still as good as new, however I have found their tools nowadays not as robust,I believe that they are not made in the UK any more,so perhaps the quality has suffered.

But good news about their after sales service..

See http://www.draper.co.uk/aboutus/history.html to find the history of Draper Tools.

The old BDS brand was not good quality but I have a socket set branded "Elora" that was bought from Draper around 1963/4. Thats seen good use without any problems.
My father bought it for me and he would not have bough poor quality tools.

Family run business hence the good service
