I have just drained the diesel to replace the tap fitted to the (very useful) sump at the base of the SS tank. I usually keep the tank topped up over the winter to reduce condensation, but the tank will be empty for a few days before I have the equally enjoyable task of filling it up again.

Two questions:

Is there an easy way to give the tank a good clean while empty (seems clean but seems a good idea).

It seems to me that the tank will collect a good deal of condensation while sitting empty. I wondered if moving the greenhouse heater from the saloon to a position under the tank would help.

Any thoughts/experiences gratefully received.

If its reasonably movable ..... get a local Steam cleaning outfit to give it a blast out ..... WITHOUT wax additive of course.
The heat will kill off any possible bacteria, the water will drain off OK, the residual heat will dry out the tank.

Keeping the cabin / area warm is a good idea, but directly under the tank ????? surely not necessary ?
