dph shift mechanism

looking for advice need to fit new gearshift mechanisum to my dph outdrive water in leg had new seals fitted on propeller shaft is this a strait forward job ie remove the 4 bolts and split pin and remove fit new one ? or does it need any setting up thanks for any replys

Are you talking about the selector assembly at the top of the leg, or something else?

It is just that, but make sure you put the shift shoe in the right way as its biased to one side as you will see when you take it out, its spring loaded so don't just pull it out or it could shoot out of the shift quadrant and you won't see which side it sits if you haven't done this job before. Use a new O ring to be sure it won't leak, its worth replacing the green seal on the shift housing if you are reusing it.
