Well, our semi-displacement 12 metre steel flybridge cruiser is now on sale and I have far too soon started looking round for a trailerable fast replacement.
Up to about 27ft and diesel powered for convenient refuelling.
With a small budget there still seems to be a good selection of older boats available.
I am currently looking at a 1992 Rinker 260 in very good condition with a new Volvo D4 and drive.
Does anyone have any info' on these earlier Rinkers. I understand the latest models have a good reputation for build quality and the older ones seem to maintain a good appearance. Any comments welcomed.

Older Rinkers are like older Bayliners, they were built to a price. They are great value for money and do the job well but you need to realise they are no where near the quality of more modern Rinkers.

I would happily buy one at the right price and one with a new D4 sounds great.

Thanks for that, I'll need to look at it very carefully when doing the survey. I forgot to mention that I believe the boat has spent its life on a sheltered loch so may not have had too a hard a life. The other point is that if the owner thought it worth spending £????.?? on a new engine and drive its not going to be a dog! I had better go and have a look I think.
