Double eared hose clamps

Have these on my fuel line and want to remove them, is there an acknowledged way to do it?
Can I replace with jubilee clips?

I just monstered them with a big pair of side-cutters. Can't see any reason not to replace with jubilee clips.

No, just a trickle. Open ended at the tank or wherever.

I feel like a wimp now, I had to use a Dremel; perhaps my cutters are blunt

I bought a tool to refit them, mine were on the underside of the basin taps.

I think there is a special tool for removing them, possibly a tool for fitting and removing them ??


To give an idea of the pressure there is in a fuel return line ... the return hoses on the car just push on, no clips at all.

I have seen the tool for fitting £13 I don't know if it is the same tool to remove them but seems a lot for 2 clips which I will probably not use again

Unless you're a manufacture fitting hundreds, is there any reason for preferring them to a decent Jubilee clip?

They strike me as horrible things to have to deal with in a blow, while you're head down in an engine compatment with diesel slopping around and the crew's screaming that the rocks are getting closer
