with a bit of luck and a few more collapses like that, Cornwall, Devon and Somerset will be an island by 4053.
 
What happens now if the local farmer says no you can't re-route the path through my land? After all the path is now at he bottom of the cliff, is the farmer a forced public benefactor?

It's owned by the Lulworth Estate according to the article. I imagine they have an interest in keeping the footpaths maintained to encourage visitors.
