Don't They Get Up Your Nose !!!

Re: They sure do

Not really an insurance company thing. Better to holler at the marina, and make sure they rectify all faults as they put the boat there

Re: They sure do

Yes and holler I will too! For a variety of reasons we were not in our permanent berth, awaiting some berth re-assigning. A friend's boat had been using our berth for several weeks and didn't use our warps or even think to ask to, so this guy had IMO a real nerve. Much as I am tempted I wouldn't re-moor him either but I may well ask the marina to replace the lines at their cost if there is any damage. As it is WE went to check on HIS boat yesterday (or rather our lines) after the gales and at least try and put the anti-chafes in a position where they were some use, he couldn't find the time apparently, despite being asked by the marinamaster to do so to put on his own warps.

It wouldn't have occurred to me to use someone elses warps, especially for a long term stay over winter. Perhaps I'm being over sensitive on this but it does seem nowadays that more and more people think they are a special case and normal rules, laws and etiquette only apply to everyone else.

Happy Christmas and a great New Year Brendan, Jools and all forumites
