Don\'t They Get Up Your Nose !!!

Currently got the boat out of the water for a bit of maintainance....it's been sat in the car park at the marina for approx 5 weeks (due to be re-floated this Friday). Managed to get a power supply when it was first lifted and blocked off. Set up the dehumidifier and heaters (on timers 3 weeks ago)......all worked perfectly until today when I collared one of those raggie blokes using my supply so that he could warm his boat!!!!!!!!!!! CHEEKY B#####D!!!!!
On investigation found out that he did the same yesterday ...so cocked up all the timers.........Result?.......last night when it was -3 the heaters were off but working today in the cool sunshine.......aaaaaarrrggghhhhh!!!!

Raggie or stinkie, doesn't really matter. Selfish so and so's exist everywhere. Don't see this as any reason to rekindle internecine unpleasantness.

Who\'s being selfish?

In the boatyards I've been in, power points are few and far between....... and are there for everyone to share.

Obviously, this might not be the case everywhere, but....................

Re: Who\'s being selfish?

Not when you have to pay rental on the point and pay for the leccy you use!!!

That how it works by me, and someone unpluging my power and cocking up
my lectrics is in for some ear bendings!!!!!

ooooo, welcome to the forum BTW

Re: Don\'t They Get Up Your Nose !!!

Its a bit unrealistic to expect to have uninterrupted power to your boat when its on the hard when, generally, there are so few power points to go round and people want to use power tools. I find that a polite note attached to the plug asking people to replace it if they have to remove it usually works

Reality

Well said Mike.
Don't use a timer, use a frostat for heat and most dehumidifyers have built in humidistat, then if you get unplugged it will still come on when power restored.
Also, it's got b****r all to do with raggie or stinkie.

SOLTRON is the mutz nutz

What's Soltron? Is it any good?

Seriously having had the dreaded bug a couple of time Soltron worked wonders to clean the tank and fuel. No reservations in saying how wonderful SOLTRON is

<hr width=100% size=1>.. when's that again, but ..

Re: Don\'t They Get Up Your Nose !!!

LOL

No but the net is spreading wider and wider hence an advert in the back pages of this months MBM. By the sound of it I picked a good month to advertise.

They sure do

Just found one of those stinkie blokes wintering in our berth who came in with no lines, so is using ours which were tied together along the pontoon. Of course none of the anti-chafe tubes are in the right place so they are chafing away nicely especially in last night's gales.

Etiquette says you always use your own lines, not the berth holders. Now I have had the marinamaster call the owner to change them but apparently he is too busy, it being xmas and all. So, should I swap the lines for any old bits I have laying around, or should I simply invoice him or the marina for a new set of warps, approximately £180's worth in all.

Good and bad on both sides I'm afraid.

Answers on a 'post' card please

Re: They sure do

Don't change the lines now, if you tie them you will be ultimately responsible for his boats safety and security, esp. in this weather.

I would charge him though, call your insurance comany, they should be able to advise best way forward.
