Don't Over-tighten Your Hose Clips

Here's what happens if the hose clips on a Vetus strainer are tightened too much..! I found this on the boat whilst replacing the cooling hoses. It didn't seem to have much effect on the water flow - engine never complained about lack of cooling water.

New one ordered, though I suspect the old one could be fixed. Old one now for sale.

A hot air gun and a couple of wooden mandrals would soon have that back in shape.
