Dometic fridge

Can anyone confirm this range of fridges have a magnetic door seal?

I need to remove the door catch to fit a wood panel.

I think they all have magnetic seals.
Some of the frames are removable from the bottom of the door so you can slip a new panel in I believe.

This is to replace an obsolete fridge, with a wood panel stuck on the front, hence the need to remove the door catch

Is the door catch a safety device so that at sea the stuff inside can’t bounce against the magnetic door and open it.

On mine the door catch was part of the frame, I took off the bottom and put in a thin panel to make it match, it was actually the panel from my old fridge as I wanted the veneer to match, my new fridge was from Penguin refrigaration. The size was the problem and of course the cost !!

Checked mine today, yes the seal is magnetic but not terribly strong. I could see the door flying open in less than ideal conditions without the catch.

What really surprises me, even with Marine Prices in mind, how can Dometic market a new CRX65 at £680 with only a 57 Litre capacity.
