Hi All, I need to replace my domestic water pump due to it leaking. The old one is a Shurflo aqua king junior. I think it has a rating of 7.5 l/m and a 2 bar shut off. If I wanted to increase shower pressure is there any harm in upgrading this to say 15 l/m and a higher shut off pressure? (Aqua king Premium?)

Thanks

No harm, but remember flow is different to pressure (So it may not make a difference!). Better performance may be achieved with a different shower head and improved larger bore piping to the shower head.

Minimum ratings for domestic water supplies are typically 1 bar and 9 l/m. Using a 15 l/m pump would probably help the shower performance, perhaps in conjunction with a different shower head, but 2 bar pressure should be enough. You shouldn't need larger bore piping - most boats use domestic-size piping anyway. Bear in mind you may need to change the calorifier's pressure relief valve if you fit a pump with a higher shut-off pressure.
