Hello, does anyone have any recommendations for a bank of 4 Domestic AGM batteries (mine are at end of life). I will be charging by solar much of the time, are some batteries better than others for taking solar charge? Thanks
I am currently testing a cheap-£150.00-chinese 110AH AGM against Lifeline AGM's.
The Chinese one is spiral wound technology, same as the Lifelines, termination not so good but was easily addressed.
So far so good. Voltage stable, rises and falls equally with the others. Not bothered to check capacity as we have no issues with running out of amps.
The setup is:- three 110AH AGM Lifelines and one Chinese AGM for the house bank, all new three years ago. One OE AGM Lifeline as starter battery, now 12 years old but as good as the new ones. One OE AGM Lifeline for the generator battery, now defunct. Again, 12 years old.
I think I will have another Chinese AGM for the generator as I am so pleased with the one in the house bank.
