Hi guys,

The domestic 80AH battery on the Hustler is not a happy chappy. I want to replace it this year. It has normal +ve and -ve terminals that connect to the heavy duty cables to the alternator etc and then a pair of lighter terminals that I wire the wind gen up to it and the fridge. I bought the batteries from a supplier in yeovil some years ago but they have gone and I can't find any batteries on the interweb that have this split terminal setup.

Anyhelp gratefully appreciated. I am in located in Bristol.

Im not sure why you would want that arrangement - normally there are 2 heavy duty terminals that take any connections. The setup you have had sounds very unusual to me.

Couldn't you use a different battery terminal clamp that has facilities for more than one cable to be attached. Cost about £4.

Don't forget to use silicone grease on your battery terminals before attaching cables.

It seems to me that the double terminals are simply to give a choice of battery terminals sizes. There is no electrical reason why additional wiress should not be attached to the clamp connector.
I would suggest the poster go for an ordinary battery allowing a much wider range available hence best price. good luck olewill
