Dolphins upriver

Sadly, one was found at Mylor Bridge today and had to be euthanised, two more were found at Malpas but returned downriver.
Some of the pod in Falmouth yesterday were filmed "tail slapping" to cause fish to shoal in shallow water, the dolphins then go in to feed.
The whole distribution of a lot of cetaceans (whales and dolphins) and pinnipeds (seals) is changing rapidly around the UK, possibly as waters warm and therefore their prey redistributes into previously colder waters.
Thankfully there were no mass strandings yesterday, although there have been significant events in Cornwall in the past, most notably quite well up the Percuil river a few years ago.
The pod around Falmouth yesterday was not helped by a couple of utter bell ends harassing them on jet skis off St. Mawes either.
As ever, if you see any whales, dolphins or seals in distress, please call CG who will then let us know (British Divers Marine Life Rescue).
Thanks

Yesterday a pod of about 15 common dolphins spent most of the day right up the Penryn river near Rustler's yard in Falmouth - poor phone photo at https://www.yachtsnet.co.uk/dolphins.jpg

No-one around had ever seen dolphins this far inshore before...

We ha a hippo in the river next to where I moor my boat one night grazing on the boat club lawn.

We also get dolphins and crocodiles som times.
