Shortly after leaving the anchorage at Sherkin island on Irish south coast early last Tuesday morning I noticed I had company. A pod of dolphins spent 45 minutes frolicking and playing just ahead of my bow. It was a pleasant surprise to have their company as I sat on the bow on auto helm, spell bound watching them, and they watching me. One of life's little blessings. :)

Clip taken on old iPhone. This was shortly before I passed the Fastnet (other thread)

Nice footage OF....was that a blue fender hanging low off the stem?

Hi Andie. No, it's a V shaped bow fender. Useful for planting the bow against a jetty on a windy day when mooring. I sat at the bow for an age enjoying the pod of dolphins spell bound by their company. Vid is off an old iPhone 3GS, I'll upload a HD version from my camera in a few days. Noel

Very nice stuff indeed!
Amazing how similar your video is to the following one which I took a few years ago... There's even the blue fender! :D
