So, just to answer my own question, I just saw some dolphins right outside port adriano.

just to be 'that bloke', every time we've crossed from Denia to Ibiza we've been lucky enough to play with a decent sized pod of dolphins. I generally bring the RPM down to about 1200 and put the boat into a steep turn to create a circular wake which they seem to enjoy chasing and spiralling out of. we've also seen the whales once, a turtle and what i believe was a great white! the shark was 5 minutes after we'd been playing with dolphins and i very nearly got in the water with them!!!

And just to contradict my own moan about lack of sea life, just three days ago I saw a small pod of Pilot Whales just west of Soller.
Im planning a trip to the mainland in a week or two. I might juggle my route to stay longer on the edges of the deep water in the hope of more sightings.
