Does anyone else have one of these systems from Dolphin Marine in Poole?
It offers monitoring and tracking via satellite, specifically via a company called Stratum 5 and a system called Otis.
It was installed into our Hardy when new build in 2014 - £3,900 on the build price.
Anyway I paid the annual monitoring £220 in September. I noticed I had no alerts after storm Eunice - normally high wind will trigger an intruder alert.
Checking, the monitoring ceased coming through on 31 December 2021. Stratum 5 support were quick and efficient on the phone today, reporting it’s because the equipment we have - specifically the “terminal” which I presume is the transponder - is “no longer supported”.
To say I’m cross is an understatement, especially no one having notified us. You buy top end kit; register the warranty; pay the monitoring and the marine industry collectively says FU.
Anyway, I write to (a) ask if anyone else has had this problem, and cost of rectification/ upgrade and (b) to alert anyone else with kit from Dolphin Marine or monitored via Stratum 5 / Otis to check their reporting is still active.
