dogs to Baltic

We are planning a 6month summer cruise from Solent to Baltic in small steps and want to take our (micro-chipped) dog with us. Does anyone have personal experience of cruising these waters with a dog and of the formalities experienced at the frontiers?

I met a German guy from the Baltic area on a baltic trader circa 1900, in Turkey a couple of years ago. He used to feed all the stray dogs aboard on a particular day so the dog catcher didnt get them. So I guess that the baltic people love dogs at least ? sorry I cant help more.
