Dog\'s on the sea

Hi there,
i have recently sold my 30ft cranchi because we recently had a new member of the family join us, she is a springer spaniel, we took her down to the boat a couple of times and all she wanted to do was eat the bathing deck and swim, does anybody have any idea's on what type of boat we should get, comments would be much appreciated
luke.

Re: Dog\'s on the sea

Sorry, couldn't resist that one! I guess you just need a boat that is fairly indestructible and heavy duty to cope with your chomping Springer.......
Sounds like a nice big low down swim platform at the back would be good for her - ideally with provision for her to get back on board unaided when she goes swimming.

Re: Dog\'s on the sea

Could you not attach her to a tether so she can't reach the bits she likes to chew or jump overboard to swim? If you need to leave her on the boat then lock her in the cabin with a window open. If that doesn't work leave her in kennels when you go away. Selling the boat sounds a bit drastic, my dog is quite clear that she goes before the boat.

Re: Dog\'s on the sea

How old is the dog? If it a puppy it will soon grow out of chewing things. If is older then it is sometimes a sign of boredom.

Written in the style of "he who's name shall not be mentioned here" - does no one else small a rat?

Yes I think so! And I was trying to be helpful.......never mind I will ignore him in future.

Re: Dog\'s on the sea

Not enough evidence to link the boat dog, with the dog boater, yet. Given a few more posts, and I'll put the text through the analyser....
