Hi, been having another tinker with the boat over the weekend following on from buying a Bayliner 1750 Bowrider a couple of weeks back with the engine refusing to start and a number of electrical issues needing sorting.. engine's now running and I'm making good progress on the electrical issues.

What I can't ascertain is whether the sterndrive's operating as it should before I take the boat on the water weekend after next for a test ride because I don't know what good looks like. I've taken a couple of video's on the mobile (sorry about the quality) in MP4 format and would appreciate your views to give Mr Naive (me /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif) some feedback on whether things look ok from the outside.. one observation is there's no water coming from the port exhaust, is this bad or normal operation? What do you think?

Engine Running at Idle

After running at idle for 30mins, Oil pressure remains constant at about 35psi and the temperature stays around 160 degrees C.. both read just under half way on the gauges

Status of Gauges after running for 30 mins

Let me know what you think please.

cheers Gary

you got big problems if the temp is 160 C ,are you sure it's not "F" most engines run with a thermostat at 80-86 degrees C, water boils at 100C and even with a pressurised system, ie, a header tank sprung loaded cap it would only be about 7-14 psi which in turn would give a higher temp, but not in the 160 region and you ought to have water coming out of the exhaust, have you checked/ changed the impellor?

Hi again Gary
my Bayliner with Merc 3.0l and alpha 1 (nowhere near a shiny as yours!) used to eject more water out of the r/h side when running on muffs-prob because the exhaust routes from the left side of the boat-and normal running temp was 150, so I'd say you're all tickety-boo
