Does the Jabsco "standard" larger bowl fit on the "compact" base?

Ariam's heads compartment has several times the volume of Kindred Spirit's, and I think there's room for the bigger bog with more comfortable home-sized seat. If it's just a case of undoing four nuts and swapping the bowl over (even if it works out cheaper to buy the whole bigger toilet and dismantle it) then I may well add the job to the list. If it involves replacing the plastic base as well (and I have no access to the nuts under its mounting plinth) then I'll leave things as they are.

Anybody know?

Same base ITYWF but the regular bowl will need a bit more space behind it at the level of the top of the bowl and for the lid to open fully

See http://www.jabscoshop.com/files/MAN TWIST N LOCK toilets doc632.pdf

SORRY BUT NO it does not fit!! How do I know- Well I changed bothe bowls for the new one and the holes where the bolts go through were not in the same place so I had to drill two fresh holes.

Odd, I changed one over and it was a straight swap. I did take the time to check the parts list before doing it and there was only one base listed, 29041-1000 and different numbers only for the bowls, perhaps yours was an early one.

Strange, in the factory, both size bowls are fitted to the same base, I used to work there, and have witnessed it!!

A large bowl WILL fit a base for a small bowl - they use the same base..... We used to swap bowls over on our exhibition displays, depending on the show!

If as seems to be the case they are interchangeable, it would appear from the spares price list that it would be cheaper to buy a complete toilet from one of the chandlers and swop bowls! this of course will also give you a spare pump unit as well which is always handy.

I'm thinking of going the other way as my seat fouls the furniture.

Could be a marriage made in heaven, but the logistics of a swop would leave me without a pot to piss in...in the most literal sense.

Yep, this doesn't surprise me, and a spare pump is always handy - though I replaced the current one when we bought the boat, less than a year ago, so hopefully won't be needing it for a while!

Hmm the part that did not fit is the base itself. I took out the complete toilet including thre base. THE NEW BASE DID NOT FIT the same holes!!

Well, I don't care about that, as I'm not swapping the base.

Was there anything wrong with your base? If all the other parts are a straight swap, why not leave the old base where it is and just replace the pump and bowl?

My dear chap; hate to disagree but I replaced my complete Jabsco compact for a new regular bowl twist and lock. The holes matched perfectly. The whole operation took about 20 minutes.

Oh, and this was just yesterday. Somebody may have some more up to date information.:)

YES JABSCO the old large ones. I removed them both and fitted the new smaller twist and lock. The base holes were not the same-this is a fact'

Ah well. They probably 'rationalised' from Imperial to metric at some stage. I know that a certain huge American computer company spent an absolute fortune just because they stuck with imperial measurements for unimportant parts that were sourced from European suppliers.

Edit: My Brydon Boy is Imperial. A real pain as I cannot substitute metric JABSCO parts for the pump so have to fabricate my own :(
