Does anyone know this type of boat?

Hello,

Since 1992 we are the proud owners of the Jan Blank, we were told it is an Elbejol, and haven't seen another boat like this one. Does anyone happen to have some more information about this (type of) boat? We were told it was build around 1890 in Germany and a Jewish man used it to flee to England during WWII.

Welcome to the forum. I can't help with your question but I doubt your boat dates from the the 1890's. Nice looking craft though.

There's certainly been something similar photographed in earlier editions of 'Classic Boat'. I'll try and see if I can find it.

It's just what we have been told Might not be true indeed...
For as fas as we know, the cabin has been put on later.

I just found out it was build in 1912. There is some more (dutch) info and pictures on our website: http://www.janblank.nl (it is still work in progress).
During the renovation I will update this weblog.
