Does anyone know anything about this boat?

Hello everyone,

I am looking for information on a a daysailer which was described as being a prototype made for the 1995 boat show and never put into production. The only information that I have is that the boat was exhibited at the 1995 boat show and featured in an article in PBO. Not sure when and I cannot find my 1995 boat show issue of PBO. There are no makers details on the boat, the only information I have is that she was built by a Norfolk boat builder. She is approximately 16' in length, gunter rigged, with a roller furling jib. The sails were manufactured by Cranfield sails of Burnham on Crouch but I cannot seem locate them either.

If anyone has remembers reading anything about her or has either the boat show issue of PBO for 1995 or an exhibitors list I would be grateful for any information.

Here is an address for Cranfield Sails. I don't know about the company but The Sail Loft was definitely still there a couple of years ago when I was last in Burnham.

I'm affraid you'r behind the times.Cranfields became Holt Sails who became Hyde Sails and I think that they have now gone from Burnham

Nope, not an Oyster. Apparently never went into production. Its a more canoe shape but quite a broad beam and a cut off stern. It is covered at the bow back to the mast with what looks like teak planking. Good thought though.

Didn't know who they were, the sails go back to late 94 I'll try chasing through to see if anyone remembers anything.

Cranfields are still at Burnham, they amalgameted with other sailmakers; I think they have a link with the Oyster group and sails are now marketed under Ocean Sails - if I remember correctly.
