Hi there
I am considering upgrading my current boat which is a Beneteau Antares 760 for an Antares 980 and was wondering if anyone has any experiences or advice?
I mainly use my 760 for fishing and short distance cruising. I love the boat and was thinking whether it is time to upgrade to a little larger with the addition of a flybridge. I have looked at the Prestige 32 and love the interior layout but have just about ruled it out as I feel the fuel consumption is just going to be too excessive.
The 980 is my next on the list, As I love my 760 I am hoping that the 980 will just be a step up. I am a little concerned about how practical the 980 would be for fishing as it has teak decks. I am also concerned whether the fuel consumption would rise significantly. I normally just poddle around at around 13 knots unless it is a really nice, calm day which it is not normally. I am looking at the 980s Volvo D4 230Hp engine option.
Would be great to hear about anyone's experience with the 980 and what they think.
Thanks
Barrie
