Does anyone else talk to their boat?

or is it just me that's bonkers?
Apart from talking to the boat, I had a chat with an oil filter that was a b@@tard to get off the other day, and heard myself asking nicely the special size bolt balanced on the edge of the bilge to stay there, not to plop in to the darkest bits.

I talk to all my toys. It helps when they are going right as well as wrong. I have a Dutton called Noddy, and a Suzuki Bandit called Billy(Whiz). Full Circle will be launched this week, and I know that the first time I talk to her, she will have an appropriate nickname. I am not sure if she only speaks French at the moment, and will have to assess her character. We shall see. I wonder if she will take any more notice of me than the feline Roobarb like object indoors who never answers to the name of Biggles.
I sing to them too when I am having a lovely time. The medicine doesn't really help.

I had a little chat with Asterie today. She asked me to pass on a message. Either get a bigger engine or put her bleeding mast back in.

Yes, just about managed to finish the sail cover before she got back. She was well impressed, and I get to keep the sewing machine! Let myself down by stopping for a quick pint and she beat me home to find the front door wide open with my keys in the lock /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Not after the way she bit and scratched this afternoon. All I was doing was putting in her new engine. She kept on pinching bits, hiding them in inaccessible corners of her bilges and objecting violently when I tried to get them back.

Like an old army Colonel once told me about single handed sex.
"Very satisfying my boy and has the overwhelming advantage that you meet a better class of person......"
