Simple question.I added anti-freeze to the sea water cooling of my BUKH DV10 last year while running & when I started it this spring a fair amount of black gunk seemed to be emitted via the exhaust pipe for the first minute or so.I felt quite pleased thinking that it had possibly purged the engine to some extent but I am now wondering if the black stuff was degraded rubber. What do you think?

According to my rubber/chemicals resistance chart very few elastomers are affected by ethylene glycol, and none of the ones likely to be used for hoses. As earlybird says, automotive hoses are not affected by it so it's unlikely that marine ones would be.
