Dodgy rigging

I've heard one or two rumours about flaws in new terminals and/or wire currently in circulation. The story is that they're sourced in China and have a dodgy materials spec.

Any truth in it?

I'm just about to order new rigging: and there again, I might not...

I was not impressed with my £2500 bits of new wire last year when it started to rust, leaving stains on the transom after 10 months sailing! rigger told me he'd checked his supply, and there were no reported problems???? my old stainless looked better and was 12 years old...but maybe it would have snapped in a breeze? who knows
