Does seem dodgy in that anyone with a boat like that should know what it is ! RS ?

Happens to be on a trailer, handy for a scrote take-away...who is going to try to get plod interested ?

Does he have a key for the hitch lock? Pic is taken on quite a nice driveway & feedback doesn't show any suspicious trends.

Looks like item posted by phone which may explain the brusque description. But it does look like he doesn't know the make or value of it.

I agree with Searush that the setting doesn't look too dodgy, but that doesn't really mean much.

The hitch lock could be added after it has been liberated from the owner !

Some adverts are like that.

I once saw one: "Computer for sale" and a price. No other details.

Then there are those adverts which say precious little about the item for sale, but appear to be reciting a seller's version of Magna Carta when it comes to threats about what they will do if the purchaser doesn't pay.

His ebay history looks more that of a shoplifter

Perhaps if he gets a decent bid he will go round and steal it for you ?

Thanks for the heads up - it's worth investigating as a possible stolen boat as be it RS or Laser2k unless there is something significantly wrong with it then it's worth more than £100 ... the trailer is worth more than that!
I've passed the link on to the laser2k association because the hard chines do suggest that to me - but the cover doesn't look quite right ...

Well I tried the Warwickshire police who couldn't have cared less, in fact raised that attitude to an art form.

Tried E-Bay but 'that item has ended'...I'd like to think if I had a boat - or anything else - stolen then someone saw it and reported it, some sort of action might be taken, but as usual even spoon feeding plod isn't enough to shift them.

May well be a genuine ad', we'll probably never know; on the other hand someone who's not too enquiring may have got a very good dinghy very cheap.

BAV 34 when did you see this ?

The ad' says 6 days to run but E-Bay say it's ended ?

Interesting. It was live at 7 ish this morning.

It was the '' fresh water sailing boat'' that raised my suspicion. No mention of class, sails, foils, trailer condition ... all the usual stuff you;d expect to attract a buyer.

Thanks for your efforts.

I entered the item number on the 'contact E-Bay' set up, - I'm sure I got it right - and just got red writing, 'item ended'.

Either their system isn't working or you got the number wrong ... cos I just searched for the number on my mobile ebay (so it wasn't a cached version) and got a result.

Don't forget it may be an executor disposing of property of a departed nearest and dearest, where perhaps the nearest and dearest concealed the cost of the item form his/her nearest and dearest. So perhaps wading in with size 12s may not be appropriate.
I've posted a question for more details so will see what I get back.
