I'm looking to change DreamFinder's dodgers to black ones with white lettering. I've had 2 quotes so far. £500 with 4 weeks delay and £250 with 10 weeks delay. We'd like them sooner than the latter but at the more reasonable price or better. Any suggestions as to who I could talk to for these please?

Make them yourself?

Canvas, tough thread, letters(?) and eyes from Hawke Head (delivery a few days, cost <~£50), an old, tough sewing machine (mine cost £35 second-hand). Making them would take half a day, and the satisfaction of doing them yourself would be immense!

Propably of little use to you - we are having ours made at Wilkinson in Burnham for the royal sum of £150 (our boat is 44ft).

Likewise a spinakker snuffer for £200 - the next best quote I got was Crusader at £250. The most expensive Dolphin at £385.

Sometimes local is best.

Got mine, + sprayhood, from Martex, who are at Nantwich in Cheshire. Tel 01270 522 251. Excellant quality and service and price. Was £70 for a single 2740mm (108inches), up to 600mm (23.5inch) high dodger in 2002. They have a stall at every large boat jumble that I have ever been to and are very helpfull. I have just found there web site

I would not consider going anywhere else.
PS have noticed they have not increased their prices for dodgers since their 2002 price list. A very hard working family business.IMHO. I have no connection, just a satisfied customer.
