We'd like to sail the Dodecanese in a few weeks' time but there's very few suitable charters available from Kos/Rhodes. We've been offered some from Turgutreis instead. We're wondering whether it's easy enough to leave Turgutreis and sail the Dodecanese islands in Greece, then return to Turgutreis. I've read posts in this forum and it sounds like a big pain having to clear out and in... On a side note - does anyone have any idea why there are so few charters available from Kos in the next few weeks?

The Moorings recently sent me a brochure (though it's 10 years since the one time we went with them). That includes a crewed yacht tour of Greek islands starting from Turgutreis. So they, at least, have cracked the bureaucracy.

We visited Turgutreis marina when it was quite new. And were embarrassed by the number of jolly boats that came to usher us in, all giving us conflicting instructions! A bit like competing restaurants do, in coves where you have to choose which proprietary jetty to tie up to...

Let us know how it pans out.

Mike.

Dodecanese - sorted

Hi again - I'm pleased to say we've found a charter from KOS and won't be visiting Turkey... The prospect of so much bureaucracy was too much on a two week trip. Thanks for the Moorings tip though!
