I would have got that one wrong, but for the fact I did get it wrong on my driving test. I had previously thought it meant slowing down I still remember the old fart tutting as I sounded so confident with my incorrect answer. Will always remember it now.

Talking of driving tests, my 18 year old has just failed his test for the 5th time... Different thing wrong every time...

Bad reversing
then Not enough mirror usage.
The failed to come to dead stop at Halt sign.
Then changed lanes without checking in the mirror.
Then Bad reversing again... (although the tester said he thought he was a very good driver and was sorry to fail him !!!)

I am not sure if he is just not very good or they are getting very tough on them these days. Whenever he drives me anywhere he seems no worse than the average road user who tears past me on the way to work in the morning... He must have got everything right at least 3 times...

very frustrating cos I have to pick him up from his job making Pizzas at all sorts of undearthly hours...

BTW I will never eat a Pizza from A chain that includes the word "Pizza" in the name again after listening to some of the stories....

PK.

I feel sorry for your son and you Paul.

It could be nerves on the daybut your comment of "he seems no worse than the average"... means he needs to lift his standards for the test.

I know hindsight is 100% but he needs to stick to the highway code as a driving standard and relax; he will get there and you will both be sooo pleased.

Wish him well.

10/10

It should hardly be challenging to anyone that drives regularly though, or am I missing something?

My score and my opinion too (although I think the explosives one is just an IQ test).

10/10 but I thought hand signals were obsolete. You don't have to do them now in the driving test do you?

sympathise, At least your kid has a job!

Have you tried that "hazard perception" part of the test. you can get it on a practice CD. Like a really bad video game, driving round Swansea in the rain, going click - not soon enough- every time you spot a cyclist/football/sheep etc. Your bound to fail.

9/10. Didn't get the "leave the motorway". Mind you, the nearest motorway to here is at least 60 miles away and I'm lucky if I drive on it once a year.

Now, if there had been one for sheep on the road . . . .

Got more wrong than I thought I would, but hey, they're just signs right?
Keep crashing the car as well. I think I should stick to boats, they're slower...
