I don't think we'd be telling the truth if, on many a passage, we hadn't breathed a sigh of relief at the the sight of the breakwater. After a challenging passage, for what ever reason, it's good to be safely tucked up in a berth. But, it doesn't pay to dwell on these. Far better to reflect upon those enjoyable and successful passages when its quite apparent that you are priviledged to be at sea. Winter sailing is certainly not on my bucket list. I want to derive pleasure from sailing and I'm no masochist.

I always feel sad when arriving home after a cruise, however short or challenging it may have been.
So my answer has to be yes.

Good to see Sukie getting top billing. :)

Does she still go on the boat without all hell breaking loose? Cats have very long memories.

Yes, I love being at sea. Arriving is however also nice - especially if it is a place I have never been to before...

Always enjoy going to sea. Whether it's for an hour after work to wind down or on a passage regardless of distance. Just love the anticipation while undoing the lines and the feeling of pleasure and excitement when I exit through the harbour into the lough. Being at sea, whether solo or in company, is where I am most content.

Usually I enjoy going to sea, otherwise I'd get a motorhome.

I enjoy going and I enjoy coming back, I enjoy being there as well, most of the time.

Before I got my boat, I used to have a coffee at a café on the Hoe overlooking Plymouth Sound. On a sunny day I'd long to be out there in a boat in the sun - it looked fabulous. Now I have my boat, I have had moments when I'm struggling to get back to my mooring against foul tide and winds and I can hear the laughter and chatter of people at the café having a lovely time and I've wished I was there instead...

Jane and I always got nervous before setting off, but once we cast off it went. Then we enjoyed the passages even in a gale and big swells the seas are awesome to watch and no wave is the same. When we arrived we put the boat to bed, have a number of large rums and some food, go to bed and pass out.

To me it is like (I imagine) drug taking. First I want to put it off , then I have to go, then there is the thrill of the sail then it gradually wears off then i want to put off going again but find I need to start all again
