Do you need an exit stamp from Spain before sailing to Morocco?

So we hope to leave Cadiz in a few weeks to head for Rabat .

We have no stamps for entry into Spain our passports, despite asking in coruña.

Do we need to be formally cleared out of Spain before heading south?

It's more in case the Moroccan officials get funny if no exit stamp is present.

I just sailed from (june) gib to spain then france back to gib and then to Lanzarote, and no stamps in passports anywhere anytime. PLus i also had aussie on board. jo checking in or out of spain. Probably will be a bit of checking in to morocco, not much tho.

I figure that if they check the exit stamps, we could go to gib and ask the British immigration to stamp us out.

Nope. Have checked in and out of Morocco dozens of times. Mostly at Smir, but several along Atlantic coast. No problem at all, sometimes a bit slow is all.

Was in Cadiz twice over the weekend, small world!

If you are concerned though, nip round to the cruise ship terminal. Friend of mine got someone stamped up (so to speak) there, no problem. Cant remember exact details but was painless.

Tried very hard to get an exit stamp in the Canaries, but failed. No one interested.

Went to Morocco, and they didn't care either.

You can get an exit stamp in Gomera. Ask at marina office.

No exit stamp needed but make sure you have valid insurance or you will not be let into rabal. The entrance is interesting. Call the pilot and follow them. They know what they are doing. If they say the entrance is closed be prepared to sail on. DO NOT ATTEMPT it on your own or with swell. We have seen several boats wreaked that way and more seriously damaged.

Fantastic once you get there. Ecplore the Souk just across from the marina. If you speak French or just take it easy Morocco is a great place.

How could they check the exit stamps, really? Her Imperial Majesty's Immigration Office of Gibraltar is er, that bit where they photocopy your passport in the marina office in Gib. You say "One of us is Australian" and they say uh-huh.

The only people who get exit stamps are non-EC citizens.

No preceding port exit needed, Rabat Marina's great, very well located to take the excellent trains to all the tourist places throughout the country; that said, our favourite by far was Rabat itself - just as much to see, far less hassle and a 'real' rather than the 'Disney Souk World' feel of Fez and Marrakesh
