\'\'Do you have staff?\'\'

Our customary spring and autumn liveaboard (Wauquiez 35, 1985) in Turkey usually starts with a taxi journey to Stanstead airport. This time we had a talkative driver who, envious of our lifestyle, ended by asking ''Do you have staff?''
We wonder if other forumites have had similar probing questions, perhaps envisaging us being piped aboard by a uniformed crew. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Finding fags who can butle is equally onerous. The skills are not necessarily interchangeable /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Umm, just hadn't thought of it that way round. Fortunately house was intact when we returned. Very few valuables at home - spend all spare cash on boat

Correct answer to that question is "Yes, but I leave them behind to run the house,"

I had a Lysander 17 in a mud mooring up a muddy creek years ago .A friend of a friend asked to come sailing then turned up in full yachting whites /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

The man turned out to have a sense of humour and enjoyed our little sail around the Estuary then got the beers in after in his now less than gleaming whites. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Reminds me of when I was in Antibes on buisness and I was invited to one of the yacht clubs. On discovering I had a boat in UK (I had a Seamster 30 at the time) I was asked the size of my boat and said 30. They told me 30 meters was smaller than they normaly catered for but for the right people they made exceptions.

I reckon he was after a job - if not for himself, perhaps his "cousin". Was he Turkish?
