Do you have a largeish (more than 50ft) yacht in the Portsmouth area?

It's a long shot, but...

I have a poorly-equipped and uncomfortable 22ft cruiser/bailer at Gosport, but I really miss my 55ft boat, in a number of ways - mostly because I can pop out for short single-handed sails , but I am really fed up with that. I want to take out Top Totty and my mates for weekends of fun.

Therefore, I wonder whether someone with a larger yacht might like to come to an arrangement whereby we could make use of each other's boats, on a like-for-like basis. I might borrow yours for a day, you do likewise with mine...

If you might be interested, PM me here, please.

PS, can you fix things?

Jim,

Brilliant, made me laugh. Are you on FC Friday pm also ?. Plans have changed and might be over there Fridy instead of Sat.

Thanks,

Alan

Like-for-like? So your is 22ft & you want a 55ft.

Perhaps you should 2.5 days in your in exchange for 1 day in the 55 - calculated on length basis. Of course is we use volume instead then you'd have to pay significantly more days but I can't work that one out.

But, maybe there is a market here. You could offer the 22 to people who have lots of totty chasing after them and who need to put a few of them off. I'm sure we've all been in that situation loads of time before........... /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

I have seen the totty attached to flash boats all over the Solent, but note that none of them draped over 22fter needing a bit of Oxalic Acid. So I consider them to be part of inventory surely?

Also 55fter always the first boat in raft of 5 due to weight. No one even thinks about rafting on 22fter with 3 inch diameter fenders 10 inches long on frayed blue string.

Bloke with 55fter gets no practical skill challenges at all, what with boat cleaners, fixers and pro skipper and busty chef.

Its what the lawyer gits call a quid pro quo.

Thanks, probably just having an over-sensitive moment. Usually I'm happy to join in with the lawyer jokes (we're more self-aware than people give us credit for), but the 'git' reference just seemed a little gratuitous. I'll get over it by referring to Full Circle Git from now on. I'm sure it'll get tiresome after a while /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
