I'm opening this thread to avoid going too o/t in the other one about oil change.
Which is where Portofino told me that his boat came with a MAN toolbox filled with all the stuff listed in this repair manual, including no less than an injector puller and a belt tension indicator, among other stuff (link courtesy of PF, many thanks).
The image below shows the relevant pages, for anyone not interested in the rest of the manual.

Now, since I didn't find any of the above tools on my boat, I was wondering if PF boat is an exception, possibly due to a previous owner particularly keen on mechanics, or I should blame the previous owner of mine, which was pretty much the opposite, to the point of having possibly lost that toolbox, IF it was normally supplied by MAN?
Btw, PF said that on top of the toolbox, his boat came also with other peculiar parts like some spare injectors, which are bound to be rather expensive, and I very much doubt that MAN would supply them FoC...

Then again, I thought to ask. Thanks in advance for your feedbacks!

Not with mine, she was second hand though.

However I received her with lots of spare parts/tools, etc. I wouldn't expect such a tool box to get lost during use of the previous owner.

MapisM I didn't get the toolbox,

However, I got most of the special tools above, and also an extra prop and spare needles to injectors. So some similarities to PF...
But obviously not the handle to the oil pump... :-)

Looking at the link to your manual these are described as 'special tools' not 'owners toolbox' or something similar and that suggests that these are specific tools you have to have to do your own maintenance and can buy from MAN rather than a box of tools the owner gets with every engine purchase. I certainly did not inherit any of these tools when I bought my boat and as you say, you wouldnt expect any manufacturer to chuck in these quite special and probably quite expensive tools with every engine

Thanks everybody, good to know that I'm not missing something I was supposed to get with the boat.
Not that I would have known what to do with a "Test connection for compression recorder", for instance...
But just as a point in principle! :)

I,am the 3rd owner .
All it’s sales from new to me have only been handled by one broker from Naples where the boat up to me has spent its life . Broker went through the history over a few beers in the Apreamare private marina the night before the del trip .
The previous owner to me had various business some in Naples ,one on Capri .
He had a skipper full time when it was in the water during the season .It was hangered in the winter .

Latterly it was left in the hanger for 3 seasons at Apreamare, as the owner had a lovechild and was separated from his wife living with the mother undergoing a divorce . At some point he was under investigation by Guardi Finanza as well , which translated to me as in financial difficulties.
So as they say a “ motivated seller “

Ownership title was transferred to the owners sister ,her name was on the reg doc . More to do with the pending division of assets I was told .
When I paid for it €s went direct to the “sisters “ bank ac who had a Naples address as well .

The year I bought 2014 , it it was put in the water in June and by Sept listed .
The PO had used it as a tripper / taxi boat officially with a posh Capri hotel ,which I understand he still has and after the divorce and other affairs settled bought a XL 51 as replacement for the hotel boat .
XL ,yacht s are made at the old Itama factory on the Taber in Roma , more / less the same guys , same techniques etc .

So when I came to pick it up ( at the zenith of the PO personal problems ) it was as if nobody has removed any thing inc personal items even cloths swimming costumes , towels hats etc on top of the huge inventory.
In date liferaft, ERIB , Nav kit - hand held compass , spare props , this tool kit in a blue MAN box , 6 sets of flipper / snorkels , 16 life jackets, bedding ,kitchen ware ,cushions, normal tools , lines ,warps even chains for marina moorings nicely made up .Bathroom cabinets stocked , tea , coffee etc .
It’s as if the PO or should I say the previous user had just never bothered to take there stuff off it .

This inc a few engine spares and this tool box found under a saloon berth .

Why and when they were bought and who used them remains a mystery ?

I might try adjusting the valves ?? , but the valve adjustment tool is not really necessary.
I guess it stops the adjustment screw moving while you nip up the locking nut .
Certainly won’t be touching injectors.

no toolbox nor tools of me either,

the number 5 spanner for the injector fuel lines fe, would have been very handy to cure some leaks,
have been thinking of searching for a similar tool, and wasn't aware that MAN has it available as a spare
Thanks P for the pointer !

Not that I would have known what to do with a "Test connection for compression recorder", for instance...

at some point I've seen Ilko using something like that to connect a manual pressure pump with a gauge,
for checking the injectors...

Boat purchased by me new in 2009 from Sunseeker Poole.

Engines MAN 900, no tools supplied in relation to engines.

Still got the boat and engines have always been serviced by Delta Diesel in Mallorca. (1st Class Service)
