Had a few of these on different boats and they always leaked a little from the gland on the operating handle. On our current boat we have 2 and they have both leaked from new. I have replaced the o rings on one without any success. The service kits are expensive and include lots of parts not needed-am I wasting my time trying to get them watertight? I am looking for an overview before approaching Whale.

Not sure about their Flipper, but their 'V' hand pump is awful. I too have replaced with new (that leaked right out of packaging). I also replaced o rings with no success. I will at some point spend some money and hopefully get a galley tap that actually works as it should!

Yes, they do. On a friend's T24 we fitted an electric in-line pumpfrom a caravan shop which transformed filling the kettle, but you still got water flowing down the pump body. Better to have a foot pump and no leaks.

Rob.

I've got a whale hand pump and it doesn't leak a drop. Seems like some do and some don't.
Mines a type V not a flipping flipper.
