I would like a tender to go on davits for general use and play and prob mated to a 4HP outboard. Is it worth paying the extra for a rib over an inflatable and is the weight penalty likely to be a problem? My boat is a Fairline Corniche with 200hp diesels and those 45 degree straight davits.

I think, the lighter the dinghy the better. It's no fun lugging them up and down the beach.

I have had inflatables and Ribs in the past, Ribs are heavy and no great advantage with a 4hp. I have now settled on a Zodiac with inflatable floor that is as good as a solid floor but still very light and matched to a 3hp that is fine for 4 adults.
