Thread suggestion pinched from Montemar.

The idea keeps making me chuckle.

Soooo maybe the Bling Queens may have some thoughts on the subject.

If you think you need underwater lights and radar please say.

...... do you need to a have a horn to cross the channel?

or it could read
Do you have the horn when you cross the channel?!!

I often think of that when I read BartW's thread "What sort of horn do you have on your boat"

He speaks commendable English but he has missed the finer points of the language and it's humour, but I could never take the mickey out of his thread title.

Hold on, maybe he does realise what he has said!

Blimey, how completely rude, and I think, inaccurate. Bang out of order.

Apologies if you think I was being 'completely rude' (apologies to BartW also), that was not my intention.

I was just trying to say how people can say things in a perfectly innocent manner that can have other meanings to the language nationals.

Please read my reply to Jimmy the Builder.

You have highlighted just how the written word can be interpreted by different people.

No offence was intended and I assure you I read and enjoy the posts from all parties and I do not consider their nationality nor location has any bearing on my interest of their post.

you may've done the same though, as mine was largly tongue in cheek and I deliberately didn't put the smiley at the end ;)

I agree we've all done that, so no worries!

cheers

I learn, slowly, but still... :):)

when I tried to put some humor in a post, and it was only me who got the joke, I knew there must be something wrong :):)

To get back on track, you don't need underwater lights to cross the Chanel but if you do it would look nice, especially when you arrive at your destination and put them on.
