i have a 2021 Honda 150 Hp with a rev / hours display at the dash

how can it tell the display is nmea supplied ?

and if nmea at the display, does that then mean all nmea engine data is at the dash ?

tnx

I assume you mean NMEA2000 as I'm not aware of a NMEA0183 PGN for RPM (would be stupid with the lack of speed of the protocol).
What makes you think it is?
if you can remove the display from the dash (or take a pic of the rear side of it, you get the model # (most likely) and the sockets/plugs there, that should help.
If it is indeed which I somehow doubt it (and not knowing the motor/model at all, nor what other gauges you have on the dash) it would mean that all PGNs provided by the ECU/N2K module, will be available on the bus cable.
Judging from other setups, if it was, It would make sense to have a multidisplay or even a LCD on the rev display with buttons to loop through other data (consumption, temps, pressures, etc)
