It would appear that this time the national press have actually expressed an interest in covering the event.

ADLS all starting to gather in Ramsgate.
The PS Medway Queen has safely arrived despite weather and PLA losing "paperwork".

Some amazingly restored beautiful craft in here this morning including some which must have had a difficult passage to simply get here due to size.
Respect that these little vessels once achieved the impossible.

Real shame some of your members had to be extremely rude to Sophie the marina assistant manager and the mooring marshals who all worked extremely hard to fit all 50 boats in.
That was the only thing that marred a great successful day.

Some truly amazing photo's and video's across social media, in Ramsgate, the crossing and arrival. Some reports that some are thinking of coming back tomorrow due to forecasts Saturday afternoon onwards.

They made this video and projected it on the Maritime Museum in Ramsgate, a very moving tribute to all involved.

Came directly back yesterday due to s*** weather forecast.
Not the best crossing ever , wind had abated a bit , but just about every possible type blimming swell from all directions as we came back.
One of our slower boats departed at 04.30 and did not arrive in the Medway until 18.00 average of 4.5 knots.
As for the problem regards Sophie, would you mind PMing with details , am earnestly hoping it was not a RCC club member(s) but have suspicion exactly who this was and it will not go unreported.
Fred.

If you have your suspicions then I presume it means it has happened before…..

Oafish and entitled behaviour is all too prevalent in the boat club world which is why the vast majority of people aren’t interested.

The entire event was organised very well and efficiently by RTYC.
It would appear that one or several of the ancien Régime decided to stuck an oar in regards moorings.
The organisers at RTYC would have no doubt been very pleased to hand the entire thing to these gentlemen ...............all they had to was ask ?
Several folks observed athe "debate" on the pontoons.

Not quite sticking there oar in but being asked to help. Mainly for the wooden boats to be protected.
Storm in a teacup best forgotten

Well, the original was a foul up.

A glorious blimmin’ foul up, beyond compare.

Perhaps it’s only right that there should have been a bit of argy-bargy at a commemoration.

Hubert and Sophie were the epitome of friendliness and helpfulness at an excellent marina who went above and beyond to accommodate an inordinate number of visitors. They also did a great job in helping with passport stamping issues that were in fact nothing to do with them. Any rudeness to them is unforgiveable.

100% agree.

100 % agree.
Just to add I and Vince Haffenden ( one of the people involved in the dispute) had booked mooring with Hubert, for 18 of our boats , for the event 9 months, before RTYC even approached them.
Before committing to the RTYC he asked if we where willing to share, when we knew the circumstances we agreed.
I have been to Dunkirk 4 times for these events and this was the first time we were never allowed into the basin with the little ships. and to be fair the first mooring plan was a mess. With yachts amongst motor boats and traditional wooden boats with up to 4 cruisers up against them.
Sophie was unfortunately left to sort it as Hubert was on a course.
I cannot thank them enough for the politeness and help given to us over the last 18 months and particularly over the last week.
Also to Vince who had made the efforts to book our club in early and made three trips to Dunkirk to help in the preparations. He had offered his help to other organisers and it was rejected. He was the main organiser for all the supporters vessels of the Thames working alongside Andrew Bernstein (the main organiser) of the support fleet in 2015
As I said a storm in a tea cup best forgotten. But perhaps we should always remember that their are three sides to every story.
