surely there is one place in sother spain where you can do your own antifoul.

You can in Roquetas and as of a couple of days ago you now can also do it in Almerimar. In Almerimar you do have to pay for the jet wash and the people to do it, but you can do your own anti-foul and anodes etc

Fuengirola is also quite relaxed - we spent two weeks there in the blistering sun 4 years ago scraping, filling and antifouling a friend's boat. Was there a fortnight ago and seemed to be the same setup.

Great news about Almerimar, heading out on Thursday, was going to Roquetas but this is ideal. They must be feeling the pinch, only good thing about the recession, an ill wind and all that.

Yes, not entirely sure why they changed their minds but a fellow forumite here had been at the office a couple of days before explaining he and others would take their boats elsewhere to lift out if they were not able to work on their boats here. As you say good news
