What's all this about making mistakes - people on this forum are experts - that's why you are asking here! :)

We made one, for a catamaran, but just a wheel house for a, still, romantic couple from foam and glass with acrylic windows and though I could lift it - it is sufficiently large to be unwieldy for one, a devil to carry in a dinghy and even more difficult to get onto a roof rack.

We had no intention of removing it but made the junction between the wheelhouse, the God Pod, and the original moulding with a flange. We fixed with silicone and screws. It can be removed if the next owner does not like it. I suspect a Sigma 36 will need a wider construction which might need more glass to allow you to stand on it (tidy up the main) - adding more weight.

Don't be discouraged - one of the best things we did.

I constantly marvel - new yachts costing as much as an apartment are displayed at boat shows. Buy one and the first thing you need to do is buy decent, means expensive, foul weather gear because the new yachts comes with no protection. Unless you intend to sail on the few good days in the UK wearing shorts and 'T' shirt you have a very expensive investment. No wonder many wives and children don't like sailing.

Do not be discouraged

If you check page 37 of the July issue of YM you will see a picture of our cat with the God Pod, in no way similar to what you need on your Sadler, we had (very) different design constraints.

Don't. Unless you want to up in Cruising Anarchy's ugly dodger thread. How are you going to get it past the Sigma's mainsheet?
