DIY spray foam insulation

Anyone know where to get a DIY spray on closed cell foam kit from?
only need about 12m squared.

this is the stuff but cant find in uk
Thermal & Acoustic Polyurethane Spray Insulation Foam (akfix.com)

Available here:

Froth-Pak™ DIY Expanding Foam Insulation kits offer a two-component professional insulation kit.

I tried this stuff for insulating my boat but to say I was extremely disappointed is an understatement!
Despite taking a lot of care to raise the temperature of the working environment and the substrate onto which I was spraying in accordance with the instructions, I failed to achieve anywhere near the expected expansion of the product. Considering the price of the kits, I found them to be a very costly failure!

Screwfix sells Soudal Genius Insulation Foam Hand-Held 750ml for £9.99, make 25l volume. Is it similar?
not sure, the Thermcoat comes with a special application gum that sprays in a wide pattern and would be easier to use.
But at that price i will buy one and experiment off the boat and see what it goes on like

Yeah i discounted that straight away with the data sheet putting in so many controls and conditions to get right, and its a fortune as well.
the Thermcoat actually works best when you wet the area to be sprayed, it is water cured and activated.
Application temp is from 5 to 17c so easily achieved.
Would love to try it as it would be great for the restoration im doing on my Broom 35 sedan.

Screwfix sad in Q&A that is closed. I didn’t try yet, so hopefully Falcoron is wrong ??

That genius foam wont spray on like i want it too, its a gap filler foam, so found this which is closed cell and moisture cured which is really handy on a glass boat as its damp with all the ceilings taken out so that will make it cure and adhere better to all the surfaces.

Better price and same as the AKFIX stuff, ( closed cell, PU, moister cure, slow expand)

Well this stuff really works, really impressed sprays on easily and over a damp surface as it is moisture cured that actually helps with curing and expanding. Little plastic spray tip pushes onto the gun and gives a fam of 8” to 12”
Closed cell foam.
The difference inside the sedan area is amazing
Took 8 tins to do 3m x2.5m at 50 to 80mm thick
And did a few walls in head and sedan area to use up
I left for a week ( only get to her at weekends) then covered with silver sheet insulation vapour barrier ( not needed but I had a roll)
Happy with the results

I wouldn’t bother trying the soudal as a spray insulation. It will expand everywhere except where you need it. That is a great product for filling gaps only

That looks interesting.. Only down side is the link shows it at 15 quid a tin now!!!!!

If it worked then the manufacturer would install it. If you see it on a house roof you run a mile. Same with a boat. It is more likely to lock in water than remove it. Do as you wish but if you come here and get peoples view then don’t get upset when people disagree with you.
