Begining to despair in trying to locate the correct connector for my Webasto heater ( someone has chopped it off the loom)
I can buy the whole loom for £70 but that seems alot for a plug!
I have found the correct size female terminals but not in a block to suit the staggered 6 pin male block on the heater.
I was thinking of pushing individual terminals onto the pins and then filling the plug with resin. I would fit a universal type 6 pin disconnect block on a short tail from this (now permanant) plug.
This is all low power stuff going to the units timer and to the fuel pump.
There is around 2mm clearance betwean the terminals when they are pushed onto the pins.
Is this a possible solution or am I mad?

If I understand correctly you have found female connectors that will fit onto the male connectors in the plug on the heater.

If these are insulated, are they or can you get insulated ones, why do you want to fill the space with resin. Won't it be adequate to just have all individual connectors.

You'll have to make a note for future reference which wire is going on which pin.

I did a similar repair like that to replace a damaged multiple connector on my car. Quite satisfactory and I hope never to see that bit of the electrics again!

is there any possibility of opening the unit and making connections to the wires before the socket in the body?or removing the socket (guess that has water proofing implications)

would agree that resin seems over kill. If you're worried about corrosion vaseline or that battery goup would be a better solution as if you do get a problem inside the resin you'd have a mare a) tracing the fault and b) fixing it. you could do some clever things with cableties to relive stress on connections.

Good to know that others have had similar problems.
The otlet block is direct to the ECU so no chance to get at the wires. The terminals 'I found' are non insulated but the shrink wrap idea sounds good( and simple) I found a lot of bits of same coloured cable so I should be able to match up to the original colours.
Thanks, as allways!!
