Hi All,

We have been in the water since September and at that time the hull was antifouled with 2 coats of International and the hull was polished.

I dont really want to bring the boat out of the water again now until October, however, when we launched in September I foolishly forgot to turn the speed log and it now doesnt turn after being antifouled, we have also been plugged into shorepower with the heating running so I would like to know how the anodes are doing.

I wonder if anyone knows of a diver who will be willing to do the above, the boat is in a marina on the haven.

Thanks
Ian

I might have but its bloody freezing. Why not ask local dive club. Or go on the main forum, there was someone on there a while ago with a waterproof camera thing for exactly that job.

Go Talk to Steve Lewis in the portacabin on the car park, alternatively you can find him in the cafe at breakfast time.

Doesnt a Consort have bilge keels? so you could dry out on the yacht club slip

a lot of the local boats dry out at hakin point next to milford marina thats if you have got a fin keel to do any work underneath

Thanks for the replies both,

We have been trying to catch the divers coming in from the LB since September and keep missing them, I didnt know they were based in the portacabin, thanks Phil will pop in to see Steve on the weekend if he is there on weekends.

Yes we are a bilge, was wondering whether the YC allow boats to dry there as we are not members. Was also thinking about drying out on Vance's slip but the only problem with that as opposed to divers is that we are there for the day then with no car and it will take only a few mins to release the log and check the anodes. If the diver says the anodes need changing we can then dry on the slip for the day.

Thanks
Ian

Sorry Mr Bloto, I replied just after your post,

We are a bilge, but as mentioned above, it could just be a 5 min job/check which would turn into a whole day if we dried out.

Thanks
Ian

For a quick check find somewhere to dry out nearer low water. You don't
actually have to be "dry" to check anodes. Dinghy or seaboots?

Put a advert in your local paper 'Man wanted to check my bottom and look at my nuts, must be into watersports & you can come in my yacht'
You should get some interest.
