Almost forgot to make this report,
Last year in October we did our first dive Cruise with Blue Angel in SOF.
Remember this was the original purpose when searching for a boat like this.

11 friends onboard, 5 couples and one young lady
We also had 2 dogs onboard, and for them we had to go in a marina each night.
Leaving from Cassis, a couple of nights around porcerolles, then a night in Toulon, and then back to Cassis area.

Spot the boat in Cassis:

One couple from our group just married the week before, so we gave them the owners cabin with appropriate decoration.

Swmbo and myself enjoyed the crew Cabin all week ! yes we did !!

So many folks on board, all beds were occupied, this is the second guest cabin:

Inspecting before departure

Yup we go,
Swmbo doing the fenders

All dive gear was on the cockpit, 6 divers (including myself) but I preferred staying on the boat most of the time.

Stepping down on that ladder, soon to be replaced by real steps

Oops, now you know why I remained on the boat while the other divers went down

After the dive, hot shower on the platform

This was my first time IN the harbour of Porquerolles, in summer its usually full. We got a mooring along that fleming, on the left side of this pic.

Look at the crowd leaving the ferry from mainland, this is October, imagine what it is in july august.

We had no crew, nor cook, and the deal with my friends was that each couple had to take care of cooking one evening.
First night was swmbo’s turn, she prepared her famous “Pasta Alfonso” (vongole)

Heading towards dive spot “Donateur wreck” blue buoy’s on the wreck.
This is a few miles behind Porquerolles. At far distance you can see islands Port Cros and Ile du Levant, and diver ribs on another dive spot / wreck

All ready for the jump off the platform ?

i-pTHhc6P-L.jpg

And going down along the buoy lines

i-zMJpKc5-L.jpg

Max depth is 53m so less then 30 minutes dive time
Divers doing safety stops at 5m before making surface, and showing their position with their marking buoy

This is a divespot near red dot bay. The white boy is for diver boats but written on it: max40 Ton, so not for us, we dropped our anker at 20m from this buoy.

Lunch time was in red dot bay

Only 3 other boats around

How hard he tried, this toilet didn’t work

Heading towards another lunch stop,
Cap the Bregancon (gold dot bay)

i-WwWrLFm-L.jpg

From there I dropped the divers on another divespot with the tender

i-PvkCH6c-L.jpg

How was your dive ?

i-BZxS6Dc-L.jpg

Would you like some water melon ?

i-mLwT4VJ-L.jpg

Toulon , this is the big med navy harbour from France.
Here is a aircraft carrier, near the entrance of the old port.

i-nwNZDHN-L.jpg

Another deal with my friends was that
they have to clean the boat before going home

i-ZHR7Qfs-L.jpg

This is a dive spot near island “ile Plane”.
This was a famous area discovered by Jacques Cousteau
On this unhabited island is a old concrete mooring quai specially made for him.

After the dive, aproaching and recovering the divers with Blue Angel

i-ZRvL68T-L.jpg

We were so lucky with the weather,
This was second week of October, perfectly flat sea, dive spot Cassidaigne,
about 5miles offshore, in the back you can see Cassis.

i-vxm8fJh-L.jpg

i-dhddN34-L.jpg

Last day, visit to the callenques of Cassis:

i-HmZt4Mk-L.jpg

And another one

i-c882qbN-L.jpg

The next day in the harbour some entertainment:
Pay attention to the kids on these two boats playing sort of a tournament,
he or she who drops off in the water looses,
he or she who can stay on the boat wins

i-SnX3ZZN-L.jpg

A week of adventure and fun.
Blue Angel as a liveaboard dive cruise boat works !

Ok Bart, don't worry, I'll take care of the boat during the 2012 forum diving cruise.
Also the captain deserves some good dives after all, I reckon! :D

Oh yes, and some underwater pics.

On one dive spot, current was quite strong, this is wreck Aroyo,

This is our favourite, don’t know for sure the English name, I Think Grouper, but in France its called un Mérou.

i-JGwd7zt-L.jpg

On this spot we had our anker stucked between two rocks. I had to go down to unlock it (35m)

Yep, definitely a Grouper, and a pretty nice one too!
By "our favourite", you mean in the oven with potatoes and other vegetables, dontcha!?!:D
Great pics btw, thanks for posting them. No clips?

Looks fabulous Bart, the sea-life colours are amazing!

Thanks for posting. The skipper appeared to be enjoying the cruise :)

Couldn't the little dogs be taken ashore for 'exercise' rather than back to the marina?

How does the transom shower-room arrangement work on a crowded wharf when moored stern-to :D

Great report and pictures as usual Bart. How is the work coming on? I think the new steps and platform will be a great addition to your wonderful boat.

Fantastic pics. Those u/w pics are amazing. Last one is my favorite. A bit of a teaser for your upcoming forum cruise, I'd say :)

Great report and great photos :)
Any chance you can miss out the nude deck shower snaps next time , unless of course its tasty blonds ;)
