The firing of a distress flare without good cause is foolish and very illegal. Firing one in a crowded statium is not reccomended.

Talking about it in this context will atract the attention of Echelon and in turn the penalty of conspiring to cause explosion.

Good luck!

As its blue its not a distress flare.

It is however pretty idiotic to even think of creating a naked flame of any kind in a public place - let alone in the middle of a crowd.

Leave it to the Italians to broadcast to the world that they are
A) stupid
B) lack any kind of care for their fellow men

No, Echelon has been superseeded.

But the advice is good. Don't even think about it.

Fireworks Act 2003: it is an offence for the under 18s to possess fireworks in a public place and for anyone to let fireworks off during night hours (11pm to 7am).

It is also an offence under section 80 of the Explosives Act 1875 to throw or set off fireworks in any highway, street, thoroughfare or public place. The power to enforce this section of the Act rests with the police. Anyone found guilty is liable to pay a fine of up to £5,000. Penalty notices for disorder (on-the-spot fines) can also be issued for this offence, attracting the upper tier fine of £80.

I repeat; don't even think about it.

Non- military surveilance of communications - like forums!

The Echelon system is used to indiscriminately intercept very large quantities of communications by isolating what is valuable using artificial intelligence systems such as MEMEX to find key words.

So, in a nutshell, evertonian's post may have been picked up and if deemed to have the requisite number of key words, will have been passed on for further analysis and his IP addressed tracked through the system to find out which computer he used to post it.

Echelon is quite old now and I am sure things are far more sophisticated now.

Using key words like, 'kill the president', Gordon Brown must die' and 'We must bomb London', will ensure that this thread will now be scanned by the security services. So Evertonian, I would start running now. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Actually, I think I'd better start running as well. I think I may know too much.

Er, what was that noise outside...................................................................

I would imagine that simply "Evertonian" would be enough to start alarm bells ringing!!

Puts head down and tin hat on....

Only joking!

So does that make all the firework displays bringing in the New Year illegal, then?

/forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif Bless 'em. they're planning a new stadium somewhere near Skelmersdale so it's easier for a non-local supporter to join them!
