well, you said something which could be paraphrased "typical stinkies with no regard for the environment" and although those people are sailors, I've met them and I know they won't enjoy such extremism. Perhaops turn it down a bit late at night after a few?

Otherwise of course, they might be er sailing :)

Forestay, please forgive me for having a devious mind, but your first post ever was a few days ago at the time of creation of the lounge.

You wouldn't by any chance be related to one of the regulars that you list, would you? /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

DB (who took all the blame but wasn't the only OTT IMHO) has actually been in again, but you wouldn't have recognised his contributions. Was it he who announced that he was wanting to spend more time in the garden shed with some glue and pieces of marine ply?

Anyone checked out PBO?

He's probably fitting the engine.

Interesting, didn't know that.

Three other things that made me think so:

1. the posting style immediately made me think "Stingo".

2. so I checked the date of Stingo's last post and, hey-ho, it's 29th April, same date as Forestay's first post.

3. then I think to myself, if I were to include myself in a list of people in a post on a fishing expedition, where would I put myself, not first or last, but about 3rd. So I looked at Forestay's post, and who is in 3rd place? Stingo.

Welcome back to the forum Stingo! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

no confusion! stingo

would never take a dog to the caribbean! He might possibly have eaten it, Or sh~ggedit and then eaten it, or MOST likely of all - rented it out and used the proceeds to pay for sailing...

Also, stingoi does have an alias but er is a load more offensive. Yes, more offensive than forestay! But not in a solenty way....

I guess that's a good description of a yachting forum.

But why the fishing expedition in the first place?

Loosen up, forestay

<<the posting style immediately made me think "Stingo".>>
How disappointing. I always think of Stingo as a lot funnier than that.

Ships Cat and Ships Woofy are both recent(ish) switches of ID, and there was another one Steve 101 as well? Loads more I am sure. Lifeboat has disappeared too.
Its up to them.
See look at me. real name, full bio, WYSIWIG in every way(maybe). Hell, I 'll even buy you a beer if you come and see me.
It is the sailing season though and weekends are off line, off phone, off TV.
There is always enough of us left to sustain the forum. Its a bit like putting your hand in a bucket of water and swooshing about as much as you want. As soon as you remove your hand, thats how much you are missed eventually.
Much like the intro of the lounge, it is shaping and evolving this place. No doubt that will continue.
And I like it.
