Disorg Rally Update.
6th/7th July 2001
The good people of The Other Forum are debating whether to join forces with us. In order to secure facilities I have today booked space for our ships for the following, almost nearly final itenery:
Friday 6th July.
Consolidate the convoy at the Visitors Berth's Folly Inn, River Medina two miles upstream form Cowes, for an evening stop-over. Channel is tidal, but with 1.5 metres at most states of the tide. Repair to the Folly Inn by water taxi (VHF 69) , dinghy, or divine miracle for 'refreshments' and an evening meal. The last water taxi leaves the Folly at 23:00 hours. My own runabout will be available for the tender-less.
Saturday 7th July
Depart, when all brain cells are present for a bijou-cruise-ette either to Hurst Point for a BBQ (dinghy needed) if we are allowed to join our brethren from The Other Place, or to Somewhere Else. Cruise round the Island (66 miles) or Do Thine Own Thing. Lymington Marina has a notable pub/restaurant at the marina, with several others within staggering distance, or there are the Jolly Sailor or Rising Sun, both on the Hamble.
Return to Yarmouth for an evening stop-over on Saturday night. Meeting point - the Bugle Hotel - just up into the town a tad. Three other pubs within spitting distance. Sunday breakfasts at the Baywatch Cafe on the quay side, if they are open. The Bugle hotel may house those who are sans bateau - their phone number is 01983 76 02 72 - book early for B&B.
There is a Wightlink service from Lymington to Yarmouth - book well in advance on 0870 582 77 44 to secure cheaper tickets.
Boats - all newcomers welcomed - but let me know early so I can plead for berths.... If you can't come please let me know asap.
Boats..
Glicca Merry Fisher 635,
Witchcraft Sealine S37 ,
Meekatharra Princess 35 ,
Athito Mochi 46 ,
Stone me -? ,
Witcherlie Broom 35 ,
Falken II Fairline 41 ,
Sumianda Broom 37 .
All confirmations to me by email, if yould be so kind please.
Thank you
Sue
